year's catch by Dean Rojas with the all time Pro Tournament string over 100 LBS, there are plenty of bass over 10 lbs to be caught. With the advent of catch and release programs and the education of the public to the value of these fish, the population is in better shape now than in recent years.
Central Florida has long been the destination of those looking for a Trophy fishing trip, and on the west coast it is hard to beat Lake Tarpon. Lake Tarpon is home to the Florida state record bass, (depending on whom you ask up at the State), and is formerly the World Record Holder as well. And, if I may point out, this record is not 70 years old like the current World Record!
